This lab has equipped to perform rock mechanics and soil mechanics laboratory tests.

 

 

 

 

In addition, aggregate characterization lab with proper developed software and equipment determines the geometry characteristics of particles using Image Processing Techniques.

In this lab the angularity, shape and texture of particles are calculated in 3-dimension that are important factors for mechanical behavior of broken rock, and are necessary for:

·       Waste dump engineering

·       Backfill design and rockfill engineering

·       Slope stability and landslide

·      Caving extraction methods such as block caving
