To prepare AHG serum, rabbits (or goats) are injected with human IgG and human C3. The rabbits produce anti-IgG and anti-C3 as well as a number of other antibodies. After a suitable period of time, the rabbits are bled, unwanted antibodies are removed or neutralized, and the two wanted antibodies are diluted to the point where they react optimally.
