Zeta Potential: a measure (in microvolts) of the repulsive force between rbc in saline. ZP is measured at the "slipping plane" and results from the difference in electrostatic potential at the surface of the rbc and the "boundary of shear." When ZP decreases, the rbc can come closer together, allowing them to be agglutinated by the small IgG molecule.
