PHILOSOPHY COURSE GUIDE 2004-2005

This guide is provided as an aid to registration only and is not an official publication of the University of Alberta or its Faculties. The only authoritative source of the rules and regulations that apply to students and the official course descriptions is the University Calendar.

This booklet lists the courses to be offered by the Department of Philosophy during 2004-2005. A small number of adjustments will likely have to be made between the time of compilation (March 2004) and the beginning of classes in September. If in doubt about details relating to specific courses, contact the Department Secretary (492-3307).

HONORS BA: Students wishing to enroll or continue in the Honors Program must have their programs of courses approved by the Department before they register. They should contact the Undergraduate Advisor, Alexander Rueger, before September.

A NOTE ON PREREQUISITES: Courses at the 100-300 level, although progressive in their level of difficulty, have no formal prerequisites. The prerequisite for all 400-level courses of two lower division courses will be strictly enforced. Graduate students from outside philosophy may however secure the consent of the instructor to enroll in these courses.
