PHILOSOPHY 215: EPISTEMOLOGY

This course addresses the central topics in the theory of knowledge: the definition of knowledge, scepticism and the limits of human knowledge, the role of perception, memory, and reason as sources of human knowledge, relativism, truth, and the objectivity of knowledge. Students will be introduced in lectures and readings to the most recent work on these topics, including some work in feminist epistemology as well as to the classic views of Plato, Descartes, Berkeley, and Hume.
