Data Committee

Responsibilities: The Data Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Governors and is responsible for:

  • coordinating the purchase of data by Centre researchers to ensure maximum benefit and optimal costs;

  • sharing data purchased with Centre funds among all interested Centre researchers;

  • sharing data purchased with Centre funds among interested researchers in the other Centres of Excellence;

  • coordinating the purchase of data by the Metropolis Centres to ensure maximum benefit and optimal costs.

Membership: Data Committee members will be appointed by the Board of Governors and will include the Director (Co-Director) as an ex-officio member, at least one representative from each of the Prairie Provinces, and additional members as approved by the Board of Governors on the recommendation of the Director (Co-Directors); members are nominated by the Director (Co-Director) after consultation, and appointed by the Board of Governors.

Term: Two years, with provision for reappointment.

Chair: The Chair of the Data Committee is appointed by the Board of Governors on the recommendation of the Director (Co-Director).

Quorum: A quorum shall be not less than one-half of the members, who may not appoint substitutes.

Meetings: A minimum of twice per year.
