Introduction
NetSteps are an annotated
list of related web sites that pertain to one area of study. They are
designed to provide teachers and students with specific Internet resources.
A database of NetSteps can be found at the Telus Learning Connection web
site.
Assignment
- Go to http://www.2learn.ca/currlinks/NetSteps.html
and spend some time looking through examples of NetSteps.
- Select a curriculum
topic and create a NetSteps web page to support that topic. Your NetStep
must be a student resource. The sites you select then must be
appropriate for your students (content and reading level). Effective
search strategies with concise search criteria will help you find web
sites related to your topic. You must also spend sometime evaluating
a site before recommending it to others. See the following site for
tips on searching the Internet and evaluating sites.

of the Web site,
- bulleted with
a small graphic,
- the major
focus of the Web site
- a description
of what the student will find at the site.
- Post your NetSteps
as a web page.
- Send your teaching
assistant the URL for your webpage via email. Hand in a hardcopy of
