RUBRIC

Weight: 10%
Late assignments will be penalized 5% per day.

Introduction

Students must be provided with a variety of opportunities to represent their knowledge. Multimedia technology has opened new doors for many students and allows them to express their understanding of new concepts. This can be as simple as a linear PowerPoint presentation or as complex as a hyperlinked multimedia concept map. What assignments take advantage of the multimedia technology?

Assignment

  1. Create a multimedia presentation you would expect from your students or that you would create to illustrate a concept. Demonstrate three different multimedia features such as animation, scanned graphics, digital photos, digitized video and audio. Don't overdo it! Remember your goal and select appropriate tools but at the same time demonstrate your expertise with the technology.

    • Identify the curricular goals this activity will address.
    • Write a brief description of the activity (1-2 paragraphs).
    • Discuss how technology enhances this activity (1 paragraph).

  2. Provide a sample of the product(s) that students would be expected to create.

  3. Submit a hard copy of the lesson plan and email a copy of your 'student sample' as an attachment to your teaching assistant.
