Research

I have a broad range of interests in applied mathematics, ranging from nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) and dynamical systems to variational methods and optimal control. The existence of periodic solutions for non-linear systems of Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) using topological degree theory constitutes one part of my works. Recently, I have developed a new topological characteristic for Onsager's equation of liquid crystals that enabled us to determine the structure of bifurcation solutions. The application of topological methods for the existence of optimal control for distributed parameter systems is another field of my mathematical research.
