About me

Academic Background

I started my undergraduate education in Mining Engineering at University of Kerman (A city in South-East of Iran). This city is around 1800 Km away from my hometown. Besides the educational progress, I became familiar with different Iranian cultures. I made irreplaceable friendships and memories during this time (trips, adventures, camping, and soccer tournaments). I finished my undergraduate studies as the top student of the university. Then I started my Graduate studies at University of Tehran in Geophysics. This part of my education provided me with some real scientific experience. I also benefited from the knowledge of my classmates. I graduated with a M.Sc. in Geophysics with the thesis title "Magneto-Telluric investigation of Geothermal Resources of North-West Iran". I started my PhD degree at University of Alberta in Geophysics on January 2005 and completed my PhD program on September 2009. For 2010-2011, I joined the the Consortium for Research in Elastic Wave Exploration Seismology (CREWES) in the University of Calgary as a postdoctoral researcher collaborating with Dr. Kris A. Innanen. Currently, I am collaborating as postdoctoral fellow with Signal Analysis and Imaging Group (SAIG) at the University of Alberta.
