    Brief Biography:

      Rashid Mirzavand received the B.Sc. degree from the Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, in 2004, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), Tehran, Iran, in 2007 and 2011, all in electrical engineering. Since 2011, he is a research associate with AUT. He is currently a senior research associate with the Intelligent Wireless Tech. Lab., University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. He has more than 85 refereed journal and conference articles.
      Dr. Mirzavand received the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award from AUT in 2012, the Best National ICT Researcher Award from the Ministry of Info. & Comm. Tech. of Iran in 2013, Elite Young Researcher Grant Award from Iran's NEF in 2014, and the Alberta Innovates Technology Futures (AITF) elite PDF award in 2015.
