    Brief Biography:

      Rashid Mirzavand (M12SM16) received the B.Sc. degree from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, in 2004, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), Tehran, Iran, in 2007 and 2011, respectively, all in electrical engineering. From 2012 to 2015, he was an Assistant Professor with AUT. Since 2015, he has been a Research Associate and is currently an Adjunct Professor with the IWTL, University of Alberta. He is the author of more than 120 papers published in refereed journals and conferences proceedings. His research interests include sensors, measurement systems, and microwave circuits and antennas. Dr. Mirzavand received AUT Best Thesis Award 2012, Best MICT National Researcher Award 2013, INEF Elite Young Researcher Grant 2014, AITF Elite PDF Award 2015, Honorable CMC Industrial Collaboration Award 2017, and TEC Edmonton Innovation Award 2019.
