Text Box: Neuromusculoskeletal Mechanics Research Program

Research in the NMRP investigates factors associated with human performance during demanding physical tasks.  The NMRP examines the mechanics of sport and occupational tasks with particular interest in how segments in a kinematic-kinetic chain interact to generate whole-body movement.  Additionally, the NMRP explores the underlying muscular factors responsible for controlling motion.

Ongoing Research

· Relative contribution of individual joint kinetics to multi-segmental performance

· Role of muscular force generation in sport and occupational performance

· Acute physiologic responses during exercise & training

· Transfer of training

· Mechanics & physiology of muscle force
