Volunteering Opportunities
Clothing Drive (Mar 21 - 23)
Have clothes you are never going to wear again? Have clothes
you want to just throw away? Put them to a better use by donating them to our
clothing drive. We will have tables located in SUB from 10 - 3 Wed, Thurs,
Fri March 21st to the 23rd. We will accept ANY items of clothing. So please
come out and support us to help Edmonton's needy!
For more details e-mail the isvua account.
Note: If you have
problems bringing the clothes at those times and want to bring the clothes at
a different time by dropping them off at our office, PLEASE e-mail us
(isvua@ualbert.ca) and let us know so we can arrange for someone to be there
to pick up your donation!
We are also running a conservation project similar to last time, so bring
your loose change for donations to vote for your favorite animal!
Habitat for Humanity volunteer opportunity (Sat Mar 24/07)

Habitat for Humanity volunteer opportunity (Sat Jan 27/07)
We will meet on campus at 7:45am, drive to the location, work until
4pm and then return to campus. The location is tentatively set for 127Ave and
116St but
could change due to weather. If you would like to arrange your own
transportation that is
ok or if you have a vehicle and would be willing and insured to drive others
please let
us know. Tasks may include: framing, siding, painting, clean-up, etc and
lunch will be
included.
If you are interested in joining us on the 27th or have any additional
questions please
e-mail the isvua account with your full name and e-mail and we will send you
additional
general and safety info as well as a waiver form that must be signed.
Volunteer positions
will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Please consider that we are
looking for
students who are
committed to coming as we only have 15 spots and a lot of interest.
Some up coming
conservation events planned this semester are a Springtime Clean-Up
(if
the snow ever melts!), some more information boards and I would like to hold
another
adoption later in the semester since the adopt an animal was so successful
this last
time. More information will become available as the events get
closer. I am also open
to any suggestions from you, the members, this is your group and it would be
helpful to
know what you would like to see. Please email ISVUA@ualberta.ca
with the subject:
Conservation ideas.

December 1st for their annual campaign launch, the Cornflake Breakfast
including a fun-filled gameshow hosted by local Edmonton celebrities.
The available oppurtunities are for the following positions: Coat Check,
Reception, and Raffle Ticket sellers. The event runs from 6 am to 10am , with

Habitat for Humanity News (10/22/06)
Thank you all so much for the huge interest in helping out with Habitat for
Humanity! Due to scheduling difficulties we found it too difficult to go as a
group on weekdays this semester. However, we have booked two saturdays in the
winter, January 27 and March 24.We will be having sign up probably in
December or early January so please wait until then to let us know you'd like
to help out. If you still want to pursue helping Habitat on your own you are
more than welcome to do so. In fact the volunteer coordinator there urges you
to contact her if you have any interest in helping out, even if it is just
for a few shifts. Her info is below:
