Two dimensional loading system

The figure shows schematic illustration of two dimensional loading system developed by Delft University, which can move the loading point in two direction simultaneously. Multi-dimensional Loading system like this may often be very useful. Two example of usage are described hereafter. In case of miniature cone penetrometer fixed, penetration tests can be conducted at more than one location without stopping centrifuge. Penetration-extraction of penetrometer and moving to the next location can be repeated in centrifuge. In case of bearing capacity tests, combined load (combination of vertical, horizontal and moment load) can be applied by using the system.
