Geriatrics Self-Directed Learning

At Geriatrics, we adopted the self-directed learning approach for all postgraduate medical education learners in lieu of the formal academic half day teaching sessions. The individual takes the initiative and full responsibility in building up their knowledge base in Geriatrics and acquiring pertinent experience while on the rotation. This website provides resources on the core topics, generally known as Geriatric Giants. It is basically a starting point.  There are inexhaustive resources available with our health sciences libraries both at the University, our hospitals, and on the internet.  The learners should select, manage, and assess their learning activities to align with their goals and objectives for this rotation.  Support is always available from our teaching faculty.
