[Its date and time indicate this e-mail (supplied by DL) was sent before my lawyer's defamation warning was. I first learned of and saw this e-mail on the afternoon of Sunday March 25; consequently, I was unaware of its contents when  I received and replied to the reporter's March 23rd  e-mail to me, and when I sent my proposed article to the editor--FC]

Thank you for your note. Just so I'm not confused, there are a number of

points I'd like you to clarify.

Keeping in mind that you are the president of ECMAS Edmonton,

1.When did you, personally, first become aware of Ms. Malenfant's concerns

regarding what Ferrel Christensen's book says about children & sex? On what

date approximately?

2.What steps did you, personally, take afterward? Did you discuss the matter

with Mr. Christensen? Did you get a copy of the book and look at these

passages yourself? Did you ask Ms. Malenfant for details? If so, when?

3.If you took no steps, why not?

4. When did you, personally, first become aware of Ms. Malenfant's concerns

regarding the exact details of [Tim] Adams' disbarment?

5. What steps did you, personally, take afterward? Did you discuss the

matter with Mr. Adams? Did you endeavor to find out more information from

the Law Society or any other source? Did you ask Ms. Malenfant for specific

details? If so, when?

6. If you took no steps, why not?

5. If, as Ms. Malenfant claims, she raised these concerns with you well in

advance of the election held on March 12 of this year:

-why did you not object to Mr. Adams running for vice-president?

-do you believe it is no concern of yours that your new vice-president is

someone who has pled guilty to hiring a child prositute?

6. If, as Ms. Malenfant claims, she raised the issue of Mr. Christensen's

controversial views about children and sex well in advance of the March 12

election:

-why did you not take steps weeks ago to disassociate ECMAS from these

views? [Since the reporter knew Ms. Malenfant had told the president I condone child sex abuse, she knew her own words here were endorsing that claim. But (though I hadn't yet threatened to sue) she did not put it in writing.]  [Back]

-do you believe it is no concern of yours that Mr. Christensen disagrees

with "the common idea that there is something inherently emotionally

unhealthful about children, or even adolescents, having sexual knowledge or

sexual activity" (p. 109)?

-do you believe it is no concern of yours that that Mr. Christensen writes

that "the idea that sex is bad for young people is at best another

self-fulfilling prophesy" - and that, in his view, the real problem is not

sex in childhood, but society's uptight views about it (p. 110)?

-do you believe it is no concern of yours that Mr. Christensen writes

approvingly of "childhood lust" (p. 110)?

-do you believe it is no concern of yours that Mr. Christensen believes

young people "naturally desire" "sexual contact with peers" and that by

preventing them from acting on this desire our society renders them

vulnerable to pedophiles who show them pornography (p. 112)?

-do you believe it is no concern of yours that Mr. Christensen writes that

pedophiles coercing children into sex "is potentialy no more [serious] than

[society's] practice of coercing them NOT to act sexually" (p. 113)?

-do you believe it is no concern of yours that Mr. Christensen implies that

the real problem with adults coercing children into sex isn't the coercion

or the sex itself but the fact that children will find such experiences

distressing only, apparently, because society is uptight about sex generally

(p. 113)?

7. Is it your position that ECMAS' problems at the moment are not due to Mr.

Christenen's controversial views or to Mr. Adams' criminal record - but

solely to Ms. Malenfant? [Since the "problems" alluded to is the attack by the reporter herself, and since I was guilty of no wrongdoing, it is at least true that those involving me were solely due to Ms. Malenfant.--FC]

Yours truly,

D.

[Note well that the reporter's reply (scroll up to see it) to this e-mail from the president didn't ask anything about the election, despite his words below expanding on what he'd said in their interview.]

> Please note that she said nothing and her entourage left promptly in the

Just as she had rejected or ignored all of the president's explanations in their interview, in that return email the reporter ignores everything he says here; instead, she accusingly demands to know why he didn't do the things Ms. Malenfant had allegedly wanted him to do.]                              [Back]
