Dangzhi Zhao, Ph.D.

Dangzhi Zhao earned her Ph.D. from the School of Library & Information Studies (now School of Information) at the Florida State University, and her MS and BS from the Department of Library and Information Science at Peking University.
Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of information systems, bibliometrics, scholarly communication, and knowledge network analysis and visualization as well as their application in information retrieval and digital libraries.
Major funded research projects include:
- Fair representation or winner-take-all: Indications of systematic conscious bias on Wikipedia (2019-2021), Funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
- Citation-based knowledge network analysis and visualization of highly collaborative research fields such as stem cell research (2008-2012), funded by SSHRC.
- Comparison of scholarly communication between the Web and the print world (2000-2003), funded by CSIT at Florida State University, USA.
- Design and implementation of a Web-based information system for the publishing industry in China (1996-1998), funded by Beijing Education Office, China.
