Based in Toronto (Markham), the Canadian division of Huawei’s Shannon Cognitive Computing Lab is responsible for developing key technologies in artificial intelligence and cognitive computing. Through internal collaboration with Shannon Cognitive Computing Labs in the US, Russia, Israel, and China, and external collaboration with leading research institutions in Canada and the US, we innovate at the leading-edge of machine learning, computer vision, and robotics to support the company's continued business success.

Job Description & Qualification Requirements

Job Description:

We are looking for passionate researchers who have conducted active and excellent research in one or more of the following research directions:

1. Machine learning algorithms research and development, including video detection, video segmentation, video semantic understanding, object tracking in video, etc;
2. Image processing/learning algorithm research and development, including image recognition, image classification, object detection, image semantic understanding, etc;
3. Develop visual/image learning algorithms for realistic business applications.

Qualification Requirements:

1. Advanced knowledge of computer vision, image processing, statistical machine learning, etc.;
2. Proficiency in common programming and scripting languages (such as C/C++, Java, Shell, Python, etc.);
3. Publication in computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning or related fields is a plus;
4. Advanced communication and practical problem solving skills.
