IEEE DSAA Introduction

IEEE DSAA'2016 aims to be a flagship data science and analytics conference, providing a premier forum for discussions and exchange of ideas on the latest theoretical developments in Data Science as well as on the best practices for a wide range of applications.

DSAA Special Sessions

Special sessions play a big role in promoting relevant focussed areas that are not well covered in the main conference tracks, bringing together researchers, industry experts, practitioners and potential users who are interested in different aspects of data science and analytics.

DSAA'2016 will feature a number of special sessions that are intended to cover some of the relevant but more specialized topics. For the record, DSAA 2015 featured 9 special sessions, the list of which is available online at the 2015 conference Web page.

Special session proposals will be reviewed based on the quality of the proposals and their relationship to the main conference topics; preference will be given to timely topics that will favor highly interactive discussions and exchange of ideas.

Both the paper submission date and the notification date for all special sessions are the same as those of the main conference tracks. Special session organizers will form a program committee, will assign reviewers to papers and will make recommendations of acceptance/rejection for papers in their sessions.

DSAA Special Session Paper Selection and Publishing

To guarantee a uniform quality control for special sessions and to be consistent with the main conference, final decisions of acceptance/rejection are done by the DSAA program chair and/or general chair.

Special sessions proposals should be submitted through email to both special session chairs.
Email addresses: <bernadette.bouchon-meunier@lip6.fr>   <drafiei@ualberta.ca>

The special session proposals must include:

  1. Title,
  2. Aims and scope,
  3. Topics of interest,
  4. Relevance to the main conference tracks and topics,
  5. Organizers,
  6. Past special sessions or relevant events, and
  7. Potential committee members.
For each organizer in (5), provide name, affiliation, country, email and a short biographical sketch, describing relevant qualifications and experience; identify at least one organizer as the contact person.

For (6), list any special session or relevant events (e.g. workshops) the organizers have organized in recent years; for each, list the year, the conference, number of submissions, number of papers accepted, number of participants, etc.

For (7), give a list of qualified committee members who could be invited.

Accepted special session papers will be included in IEEE Xplore.
