The Humanities Centre (1972) houses the Departments of English, History and Classics, and Philosophy. The interior of this rough concrete structure is decorated with colored skylights, bright carpets, and 52 painted nylon banners each 4 x 13 feet in size designed by Canadian artist Takao Tanabe. The Faculty of Arts offices are located on the top floor of this building.
