Evan Baldwin's paper has been accepted! The paper, entitled "Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation and Exercise for Reducing Trapezius Muscle Dysfunction in Survivors of Head and Neck Cancer: A Case-Series Report" was the result of work he and colleagues did for their major project while they were physiotherapy students. The paper will be in an upcoming edition of Physiotherapy Canada.

Andrea Bui presented a poster at the University of Alberta's Undergraduate Research Symposium. "Assessing Muscle Contraction Force" was the final product of research from data she collected over the summer. Great work!

It is with mixed feeling that we bid adieu to Cameron Mang. Cam was part of our research team for several years in various capacities and is now off to pursue his PhD at the University of British Columbia. Good luck Cam, we wish you all the best!

Paper accepted for the European Journal of Applied Physiology! Austin's paper: "Neuromuscular electrical stimulation: implications of the electrically evoked sensory volley" will appear in an upcoming issue.

We welcome Jenny Lou and Aaliya Merali to the lab. Jenny and Aaliya will learn much as an intern and practicum student, respectively. Meanwhile, we are busy organizing to ensure a successful EPOWC conference in August.

Summer is here and we are as busy as ever. We welcome Andrea Bui, Mandy Hong and Sarah Roshko (back again) as summer research assistants. Alex Ley is back (at least temporarily) as our research technician and Cam Mang is in the lab again until he goes to UBC to for his PhD. Yoshi (MSc student) and Austin (PhD student) are also here continuing their research.

Congratulations to Dr. Joanna Clair on the acceptance of her paper in the Journal of Neurophysiology. The paper, entitled "Post-activation depression and recovery of reflex transmission during repetitive electrical stimulation of teh human tibial nerve", will appear in an upcoming issue. We also congratulate Dr. Clair on her new lecturer position in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation.

Two papers accepted! Both Austin and Cam have recently had papers accepted! Austin's paper: Motor unit recruitment when neuromuscular electrical stimulation is applied over a nerve trunk compared with a muscle belly: triceps surae will appear in the Journal of Applied Physiology while Cam's paper: "Neuromuscular electrical stimulation has a global effect on corticospinal excitability for leg muscles and a focused effect for hand muscles" will be published in Experiment Brain Research. Congratulations!
