Journal of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, the first fully on-line peer-reviewed periodical in the field, is now entering its 6th year of publication. The most significant recent change in the Journal is the addition of five prominent scientists as associate editors. They include: Dr. Isadore Kanfer of Rhodes University, South Africa; Dr. Lakshmi Prem Kotra of University of Toronto, Canada; Dr. Glen S. Kwon of University of Wisconsin, USA; Dr. Jacques Turgeon of Universite de Montréal, Canada; and Dr. Kishor Wasan of the University of British Columbia, Canada.
During July 1, 2001 - June 30, 2002, we received 73 manuscripts from which 23 were accepted, 25 rejected and 25 were under review. Our acceptance rate was 48%. On average the time between arrival and publication of manuscripts was 17 weeks (median 10 weeks; range, 5-30 weeks). The time spent for the authors to revise their manuscript was the longest period followed by the initial peer reviewing time. After acceptance, the average time for publication was 4.8 weeks (median 3 weeks; range, 1 day-20 weeks). The recent addition of the associate editors will certainly shorten the Journal’s already rapid turn around time of manuscripts.
We encourage you to submit your manuscript describing original data or reviews of timely subjects to the Journal of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. Publication in the Journal is rapid and free. In addition, the Journal will accept illustrations in color as well as those with sound and motion. JPPS is listed in all major citation lists.
