Pharmaceutical Congress of the Americas

PDF version

On March 24-29, 2001, pharmaceutical scientists from the majority of the American countries will gather in Orlando, Florida to kick start an exciting era, the era of borderless exchange of ideas, visions and technology. Pharmaceutical research and development in these countries vary in sophistication. The citizens need for pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical care, however, are at the same level across the continents. The aim of the Congress is to explore these similarities and diversities and find common and complimentary grounds. Attendees of the Congress will get a clear understanding of the level of the differences, similarities and needs.

Bringing scientist and pharmacist together is not a novel idea as it is the main goal of many other meetings organized by our own AAPS and CSPS. What makes the Congress so unique, however, is the diversity of nations involved and the great deal of targeted energy and enthusiasm used to bring these many nations together. Representatives from all participating nations and professional organizations have been actively involved in making the Congress evolve from a concept to the present reality.

The program includes

  • Numerous scientific and educational sessions including short courses and plenary sessions tailored to suit a broad spectrum of interests;
  • Over 400 poster presentations and 50 exhibits;
  • Keynote address by Nobel Peace Prize laureate and former President of Costa Rica, Dr. Oscar Arias Sanchez `the impact of pharmaceutical research on human health in the Americas'.

It is now our turn to support this worthy initiative by our active participation in the Congress.Please register directly online at www.aapspharmaceutica.com/pca , or call 703-243-2800 for a preliminary program book.
