Journal Articles about Cough generated Droplets
Ten years ago we studied the size distribution of cough particles and the effectiveness of common protection measures (cough etiquette maneuvers) in blocking the emission of cough particles, demonstrating that even surgical masks do not filter the emission of such particles. Fortunately, recent studies have shown that common masks do help, not by filtering out the speech and cough particles, but by severely shortening the jet of air from the mouth.

Ex-Alta1 CubeSat
Congratulations to the AlbertaSat Student Team for completing the assembly and tests of the first satellite built in Alberta, Ex-Alta 1. The Team successfully launched and operated their cubesat, which measured 10 x 10 x 30 cm, from 2017 to 2018 as part of the QB50 constellation of nano-satellites. They are now building Ex-Alta2, as part of the Canadian Cubesat Project from the CSA. The UAlberta students are pioneering a new chapter in space exploration in our province. They have even formed new space companies of their own, Wyvern and Promethean Labs.
For more information on the project, go to the AlbertaSat page.
