Second Annual Global Development Network Conference
Beyond Economics: Multi disciplinary Approaches to Development
Tokyo, Japan
December 11-13, 2000

The Global Development Network (GDN) invites researchers and institutions that focus on the challenges and problems of developing and transition countries to submit applications to make presentations at GDN2000. Interested parties can apply to any or all of three different categories of applications listed below. For successful applications the GDN will cover all travel and accommodation expenses for one person. The three categories are:

1. Papers on the Thematic Areas: escaping poverty, institutional foundations for a market economy, gender and development, science and technology for development, and social and environmental sustain ability.

2. Papers for the special sessions on the Business of Development Knowledge;

3. Participation in the Knowledge Fair, a forum to provide research, policy, and development institutes (non-profit organizations only) with places to show their products.

Applications and final papers must be submitted by August 31,2000.
