All Technical Staff (Department and Trust) are required to have Standard First Aid Training.

The Alberta OH&S Code

-Schedule 2, Table 2, lists our laboratories as High Hazard Worksites.

-Schedule 2, Table 7, guides you to the size of the First Aid kit based on the number of people who are normally in the lab, and proximity to EMS.

-An Alberta #2 kit should work for most of our laboratories. (Some teaching laboratories could have greater than 30 people at times, but that is not the norm)

-Schedule 2, Table 3, sets the contents of the different Alberta First Aid kits. There must be an inventory of the contents and the kit must be checked to confirm the contents.

(Some components do have expiry dates)
