UA BBBS Buddy Day - 29 March 2008

.: March 29: Buddy Day at the U of A: BBBS volunteers – U of A and non-U of A alike – and our families and kids on our waiting list will be invited to come to the U of A to take a guided tour with a Campus Ambassador (including seeing the 3D Printer!), participate in a scavenger hunt, and have lunch. Volunteers in our site-based programs (i.e. In-School Mentoring, Club Connect, Inner-City Children’s Project, Hockey Heroes, Digital Heroes) will not be able to bring their kids as they only visit them at the mentoring location or on approved field trips.

University of Alberta Big Brothers Big Sisters Club!

Jan. 31: Public Seminar with Dr. Margaretha Ebbers from the Edmonton Public School Board on Building a Relationship with a Child. Plus a panel of Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteers who will share ideas for activities that volunteers and kids can do together. 5:00 pm. Room CAB 235.

Feb. 8: Bake Sale in Business-Tory Galleria… Good Cookies, Good Cause! We’re looking for BBBS Bigs and Littles, Groups of Mentors/Kids (TEAM, Club Connect, Inner-City Children’s Project) to bake treats for the sale that day, with proceeds going to the UofA Club…. Or come by, buy a snack, and get to know other volunteers on campus!

Volunteers in our site-based programs (i.e. In-School Mentoring, Club Connect, Inner-City Children’s Project, Hockey Heroes, Digital Heroes) will not be able to bring their kids as they only visit them at the mentoring location or on approved field trips.

Apr. 2: End-of-Year General Meeting – and Pizza!! 5:00 pm. Room CAB 235.

Welcome to the University of Alberta BBBS Club!

The U of A BBBS Club brings together U of A students, alumni and staff who volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters - Edmonton & Area.

We volunteer as Big Brothers and Big Sisters, In-School Mentors, Digital Heroes, and TEAM Mentors (Together Exploring Activities with Mentors).

The UA BBBS Club blog is another way for us to get the word out about the club and its activities, and to encourage U of A students and staff to consider becoming a mentor for a child in need.
