Erin Kelly
Hello fellow Arts students! My name is Erin Kelly and I am one of your elected Students' Council representatives. I am currently in my third year of an Arts degree with a major in political science and a minor in Latin American studies. My hope is to graduate next year and find a fulfilling job in the non-profit sector.
I started out my post-secondary career in the Arts transfer program at Grant MacEwan College . It was during my time there that I began to take an interest in student issues and government. In my second year of the program I took on a paid staff position within the Students' Association and was able to see the inner workings of student government firsthand. This experience spurred my interest in getting involved with student government on the U of A campus and thus I ran in last year's election!
In addition to representing you on Students' Council, I also sit as the Council representative on the board of directors of the Alberta Public Interest Research Group here on campus. APIRG is a great resource for any student on campus, providing (among other things) funding for students to attend conferences, host speakers and organize working groups to investigate or implement creative, community-minded initiatives. I strongly encourage you to check them out and to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information.
I hope this gives you a clearer picture of who I am and that you will feel free to get in touch with me if you have any concerns or ideas for Students' Council!
