Call for Submissions
EXCAVATIO XXVIII (WINTER 2016)
Excavatio: International Review for Multidisciplinary Approaches and Comparative Studies Related to Émile Zola and Naturalism Around the World is the official publication of the Association internationale Zola et Naturalisme (AIZEN)
Twenty-three volumes are already in print and available in university libraries and other collections in North America, Asia, and Europe. They can also be purchased on our web site at the following address:
Excavatio has become web-based, featuring 10-15 articles in each volume. This scholarly-refereed free access journal is published semi-annually.
The fifth web-based volume, no. XXVIII, will appear in December of 2016 and will feature scholarly articles mainly on Émile Zola, that is, his life, his work (fiction, theoretical writings, criticism, journalism, correspondence, photography, etc.) his struggles, his visionary thinking and the impact of his legacy in the twenty-first century.
In order to submit a paper for consideration, you must be a current member of the AIZEN. Presenters at the joint AIZEN/University of New Orleans International Conference are also invited to submit a revised version of their paper, lengthened and documented according to our guidelines, with complete bibliographic information appearing in a first footnote and subsequent references in a shortened form.

All papers will be submitted to a peer-review and editorial process.
Submissions for Volume XXVIII, with a length of 5,000 to 6,000 words in either English or French, should be sent as attachments in Microsoft Word, along with an abstract of 100-200 words, a short curriculum vitae, and brief biographical sketch to the Editor (email@example.com): by midnight on June 30, 2016.
