The Ultimedia Services product includes both an application programming interface (API) and graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to support video and audio services on your system as shown in the Ultimedia Services illustration.
The underlying functionality of the Ultimedia Services application is made available as a set of object-oriented services. The low-level objects in the Object Library illustration are used by the media handler objects and applications to manage devices, navigate through the files, and, if necessary, synchronize audio. The media handler objects use the audio device to play and record audio and an AIXwindows window to display the video frames.
