Program
This two-day workshop will focus on
fuel cell technology and its supporting systems. The program will
highlight Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC), Polymer Exchange Membrane (PEM)
fuel cell, Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) together with fuel cell supporting
systems. The goal of this workshop is to bring together Canadian
SMEs and researchers interested in fuel cell technology; focusing together
to understand the achievements, problems, and challenges ahead in this
emerging field. Opportunities will be available for networking and
exploring collaborations between interested partners. There will
be plenary and keynote speakers from leaders in fuel cell industries and
research. A panel discussion with key corporate, federal and provincial
stakeholders is also planned.
The first and second days will begin with industry overviews
from recognised experts, followed by invited talks from leading researchers,
developers and practitioners of fuel cell technologies. A lunchtime
speaker from the Alberta Energy Research Institute, a provincial agency
with a mandate in alternative energy, will provide an overview of the government's
strategy and role, including funding opportunities. The National
Research Council's Fuel Cell Program will provide the plenary speaker for
the evening session to highlight the national strategy, leading into the
interactive panel discussion into fuels for fuel cells.
Keynote and invited speakers from
